Company History
Ralph and Johnnie Carver opened their first retail grocery store in Erin Springs, Oklahoma. After years of Ralph working for other local grocery store chains; he got the entrepreneurial motivation to open his own company and truly built it from the ground up. After starting his new company under the name Carver Supermarkets a second store was purchased in Noble, Oklahoma. Soon following were locations in Davis and Pauls Valley.
In 1977, Carver Supermarkets and Coy Supermarkets (owned by Coy and Pat Wagstaff) merged into Super C Mart, Inc. with store locations in Lindsay, Wilson, Lexington, Kingston and Wetumka. A new store was built in Noble in 1985 and the Maysville store was aquired as well. In 1988, Ralph and Johnnie bought out their partners and assumed all of the Super C Mart, Inc. stock at that time. Afterwards, The Carnegie and Apache store locations were purchased and the Lexington and Davis locations were sold. In the years following, Ralph hired his three children to work at the company in different positions.
In 1995, Ralph passed away at an early age and in 2002 Johnnie followed. During this time their three children Rick, Rod and Kay inherited the responsibilities of operating Super C Mart, Inc. and the corporate stock. Rod has been the active President and CEO of Super C Mart since then and still shares ownership with sister Kay Patino. During the duration of the 2nd generation of the family business the company has experienced a lot of growth along with the communities they help to support through out Oklahoma.
